Massage Therapy

Massage is the holistic application of physical touch to affect and balance the systems of the body.

  • Medical Massage A results-oriented massage is specifically directed to resolve a condition diagnosed and prescribed by a physician. Treatment is only on the areas of the body related to the diagnosis. It is used frequently in treating asthma, diabetes, fibromyalgia, cancer-related nausea, pain and post mastectomy conditions.

  • Relaxation Massage An all-purpose massage for treatment of stress, relaxation, and improvement of well being. Relaxing and invigorating, it affects the nerves, muscles, glands and circulation.

  • Sports Massage A special massage typically used before, during and after a sports event with the purpose of preparing the athlete for peak performance. It also helps to alleviate the stress and tension that builds up in the soft tissues during physical activity and overexertion, whether you are a once a week runner or a tri-athlete.

  • Geriatric Massage A combination of gentle Swedish and lymphatic massage designed for elders. Specific treatments may address joint health, digestive and elimination balance, dizziness, sleep problems and fatigue.

  • Injury Treatment A treatment protocol that addresses the specific injuries and surrounding structures to accelerate and encourage proper healing. Best results are found when the treatment is given to recent injury. May be combined with hydrotherapy, natural anti-inflammatories and gentle exercise.

  • Abdominal massage: This specially focused massage is designed to release tension in the abdominal viscera, stimulate digestion, and support intestinal balance. It is helpful for constipation, gas or over-active bowels, as well as the release of diaphragm tension. It is deeply relaxing and balancing.
