Dr. Leslie Korn has been in clinical practice since 1977 providing over 30,000 hours of health care to people with a diverse range of health problems. She provides a compassionate and comprehensive approach using natural modalities including nutritional therapies and detoxification, counseling and psychotherapy, somatic psychotherapy, energy medicine and traditional (indigenous) medicine. She welcomes clients who experience complex health problems, such as chronic pain, depression, anxiety, stress and PTSD, ADD/ADHD, asthma and allergies, digestive problems, addiction recovery and autoimmune diseases. She specializes in natural approaches to mental health and the treatment of physical and persistent health issues arising from early life trauma. She works with people to detoxify from, reduce or eliminate pharmaceuticals and to take control over their health and well-being. Her approach is results-oriented and responsive to the needs of her clients. Her training and experience enables her to collaborate effectively with medical and allied health practitioners.
Dr. Korn has practiced therapeutic bodywork since 1977. She is a registered polarity practitioner, is nationally board certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork and is a licensed mental health counselor (Mass.). She has a PhD in Behavioral Medicine from the Union Institute, a MA in Health Psychology from Lesley University, and a MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health where she carried out research in nutrition. She trained in psychotherapy, and community mental health in the department of psychiatry at the Cambridge Hospital, Harvard Medical School where she was a Clinical Fellow in Psychology and Religion. She completed clinical internships at the Pain and Stress Clinic, Boston University and at the Trauma Clinic at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She introduced Polarity therapy and body oriented psychotherapy for the treatment of PTSD in the department of psychiatry during her tenure at Harvard.
Dr. Korn has served as a clinical instructor and clinical supervisor at Harvard Medical School, clinical director of the New England School of Acupuncture, Associate Professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies and on the faculty of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine. She was in private practice in Cambridge, MA between 1983-1995 and for 10 years directed a consulting firm funded by state and federal agencies to provide multi-language elder wellness and teen arts and esteem programs to low income housing residents.
